    Four-year undergraduate engineering degree, usually after Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  • Integrated M.Tech

    Five-year programmes at some universities that combine the B.Tech and M.Tech.

    Postgraduate engineering; GATE and university-level tests are the common routes.

University entrance tests

Many private universities run their own computer-based tests. Each is a separate application with its own fee, syllabus and window.

National scores

JEE Main scores are accepted by a number of private universities alongside, or instead of, their own tests.

Direct university process

Some universities admit through their own application, assessment and interview steps rather than a named test.

  • Shortlist the tests that cover the colleges you actually want
  • Track each application window separately — they do not align
  • Compare branches and campuses, not just the university name
  • Keep Class 10 and 12 documents, ID and photos ready in digital form
Can I get into a private engineering college without JEE Main?

Yes. Many private universities admit through their own entrance tests or a direct application process. JEE Main can widen your options, but it is not the only route.
